While I am working on that next post about plants that did or did not do well during our record heat and drought, here is a quick interlude on a color combination that I like a lot. The reddish orange and bright orange of marigold flowers (Tagetes patula), the dark green leaves of boxleaf azara (Azara microphylla), and the silvery leaves of seafoam artemisia (Artemisia versicolor ‘Seafoam’.
I feel sort of silly for not realizing this much earlier, but bouquets are a super easy and obvious way to play with color palettes and textures to find out which combinations of plants I might like to put in my garden…
